Woke up this morning (Manila time) feeling like my right ear has an obstruction. I thought “just got compressed while I was sleeping” but it never really went away. I used a Q-tip and didn’t get any, but that said I can hear fluid (?), just some squelching sounds inside. Sometimes I can clear it out either by burping or sneezing but the problem comes back. I definitely think my nose and throat are connected, because I get total clarity back in my right ear if I breath or use my throat in some way. What is happening?

Probably stuffed with wax. Q tip just shoves it in more. Go to the doctor and have your ears cleaned out.

Probably excessive wax. If it doesn’t go away bring the ear to a doctor for syringing.
Don’t go poking cotton buds or anyth
ing else in.

Try rubbing right behind your cheek bone just underneath your ear. Your eustachian tubes might be clogged up. This is usually brought on by congestion.

It’s ear wax. Sometime I get excess farther back where I can’t get it. Usually it happens when I have a cold or my body is way out of wack. If it’s like that you can just go to a quick care type place and they can flush it out. You can also flush it yourself if you have the little thinga- ma- bobber.

Ho pefully just some stuff deep in your ear a good flush will get out and not ETD. I’ll be blunt, Eustachian Tube Dysfunction is a fucking nightmare and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Its probably best to go to the doctor and have it checked it.
It should just be fixed by a deep clean with medical tools and whatnot. But then again, I’m not a doctor. I just pretend to be one in the hospitals to steal drugs.

You can try peroxide. Lay on your side. Pour in enough to fill your ear canal. Keep still for 10 minutes. Sit up and let it flow out naturally (use a facecloth if need be).

As others have suggested, it could be wax. Diluted hydrogen peroxide works wonders cleaning your ears (it also bleaches so be careful) if that or plain water doesn’t help go to a hospital for syringing.

Actually not that likely to be wax, sounds like fluid in the middle ear. The Eustachian tube gets blocked if you have a cold or something. Sometimes decongestants like pseudoephedrine help. If it starts to hurt or doesn’t go away in a few days go to a doctor. Don’t stick anything in there, although I did have ear candling done once in China and it was kind of fun.

Straight hydrogen peroxide. Lie down with you ear facing up and let it sizzle for 20 minutes. Then squeeze ball syringe full of water to blow it out. I do it at least once a year.

If your ear “unclogs” occasionally when you create pressure inside your throat, it’s probably some kind of irritation or infection in your inner ear or eustacian tube.
There are lots of ways to equalize the pressure in your ears. Divers have to do this as they descend and ascend in the water column. Here are some hints: https://www.diversalertnetwork.org/health/SmartGuide-Ear/index.html
If it’s being caused by congestion, a decongestant may help. Go ask for real psuedoe phederine (Sudafed) at the pharmacy counter. It’s the only one that really works. If things clear up after taking the Sudafed, then you know it’s an inner-ear problem.
If that doesn’t help, look for moths.
